Prerequisites: Reading Proficiency and one of the following math requirements: 3.0+ HS GPA, HiSET Career/College Ready, or GED 175+ within five years ACT math score of 22+ within two years JC NON-STEM Math Readiness Test score of 50+ within two years Accuplacer Next Gen quantitative reasoning score of 240+ within two years Accuplacer elementary algebra score of 107+ within two years Accuplacer college level math score of 39+ within two years MTH002 or MTH084 with a grade of A MTH110 or MTH128 with a grade of C or better MTH091 Support for Quantitative Reasoning can be taken concurrently if the following is met: Reading Proficiency and one of the following math requirements: 3.0+ HS GPA or GED scores of 165-174 within six-seven years JC Non-Stem math readiness score of 20-49 within two years Accuplacer Next Gen quantitative reasoning score of 230+ within two years Accuplacer elementary algebra score of 45+ within two years Accuplacer college level math score of 20+ within two years MTH002 or MTH084 grade of B or C Quantitative Reasoning provides an overview of the skills required to navigate the mathematical demands of modern life. Emphasis is placed on improving students ability to draw conclusions, make decisions, and communicate effectively in mathematical situations. Topics may vary but always include proportional and statistical reasoning and mathematical modeling. A scientific calculator is required.
