Catalog description
Prerequisites: Admission to the Law Enforcement Academy and reading proficiency First Responder First Aid for Law enforcement teaches the necessary first aid and CPR skills needed for proper care to someone who is experiencing injury or serious illness. Students will learn how to recognize, respond and give appropriate care during an emergency. This course focus include trauma care for oneself and/or other first responders. The skills covered in class will enable the student to earn certification in First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This coursework uses the current Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training(POST) curriculum related to trauma response and first aid for law enforcement. (D)
