Catalog description

Prerequisite(s): HRA125 with a grade of C or better, and reading proficiency. Building Automation Systems is a lecture and laboratory course which introduces students to Building Automation Systems (BAS) with a primary focus on HVAC controls and foundational exposure to lighting controls, access controls, and process controls. Students learn BAS components, sensing and actuating devices, DDC controllers, communication protocols, user interfaces, programming basics, installation, commissioning, energy and IAQ management, codes/standards, and preventive maintenance. The course is designed for students with no prior controls experience. (D)
