Catalog description
Prerequisites: BIO116, HIT100, HIT150 and HIT155 (all courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better) and reading proficiency Classification Systems I is an introduction to the ICD-10-CM data set used for reporting diagnoses and other reasons why health care professionals care for patients. This course will also include instruction (theory and hands-on) on how the classify and index diagnoses in the health care setting. The various uses for diagnoses codes will also be discussed. (F,S,O)
