Medical Laboratory Practicum-Chemistry and Immunology

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to program. This supervised practicum is within the medical laboratory setting and provides laboratory practice in medicial chemistry and immunology. Emphasis is placed on medicial laboratory skills and performance in areas such as computerized instrumentation and the ability to recognize technical problems. Upon completion, students should be able to perform biochemical analysis by various methods, including testing utilizing computer oriented instrumentation, report test results, and manage patient data and quality control statistics using information systems.
