PREREQUISITE: CHM 112 This is the first course in a two-semester sequence. Topics in this course include nomenclature, structure, physical and chemical properties, synthesis, and typical reactions for aliphatic and organic compounds with special emphasis on reaction mechanisms and stereochemistry. Laboratory is required and will include common organic chemistry techniques. ASCI. (F)
