Grant and Proposal Writing

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the principles and practices of proposal and grant writing for research, education and community projects. Students will learn how funding organizations operate at local, federal and private levels and practice strategies for producing competitive proposals. Emphasis is placed on audience awareness, ethical considerations and key genres such as needs statements, project descriptions, budgets and timelines. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify funding opportunities and create professional proposals that demonstrate clarity, purpose and persuasion.
