Catalog description

In this course students learn about the health and language policies of the US for Spanish-speaking patients. Some of the topics that will be discussed are how language affects health, health policy in the United States, language concordance in healthcare, and the role of medical interpreters for the Latinx community health. Students will work in groups for a final project to develop an academic poster. Instruction is in Spanish and English.
