Catalog description
This course will explore Sicily's rich medieval history through the lenses of religion, art and identity. Bringing together primary source texts, contemporary theory and material evidence, we will analyze how the island's Jews, Christians and Muslims competed over a shared intellectual, artistic and material heritage to construct their identities. Taught on-site in Palermo, Sicily.
