This course is a study of the media's role in the political system of the United Kingdom, concentrating on the dynamic and interdependent relationships among journalists, politicians, the public and public policy. The course explores media and politics theories as they apply to the British context; how UK media practices and technologies shape political decision making; how political forces influence British media institutions; and how public opinion and media narratives are shaped within a parliamentary democracy.
