This course introduces students to the issues and processes involved in protecting the personal liberties of criminal suspects, focusing on the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments. Topics include search and seizure, arrests, use of force, interrogation and confession, right to counsel, pretrial identification, the Exclusionary Rule and other remedies for constitutional violations.
