Introduction to inductive logic and the philosophical problems it raises. This course may include topics such as the traditional problem of induction; the Goodman paradox and the new riddle of induction; the probability calculus and kinds of probability; Mill's methods of experimental inquiry and the nature of causality, abduction (inference to the best explanation); and confirmation theory.
