Transition to Practice

Catalog description

This course enhances clinical reasoning in the context of communication and teamwork, patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. Students will explore pathways for licensure and prepare for a career in nursing. Current issues in leadership, risk management, health policy, health economics and political action will be explored. An emphasis will be placed on the role of the nurse in advocating for quality and safety in healthcare teams.
