Empowerment and Resilience

Catalog description

This elective course explores traumatic events and the ongoing psychological and social stress responses that result. Empowerment and resilience conceptual premises will be examined as elements to overcoming trauma and/or traumatic events. Historical traumatic community events will be used to highlight strategies of recognition and resilience and provide a micro to macro level perspective.
