Catalog description

Students in this course will employ critical musicological perspectives as they explore a series of issues and concepts (socio-cultural, technical, ethical, theoretical, ethnographic, philosophical, etc.) of vital importance to musicians. Students will approach these issues via a wide variety of musical case studies taken from diverse genres, regions, periods and styles as they build upon knowledge gained in previous courses.
