Catalog description

This course focuses on the cultural and historical contexts of music, primarily of the European and American musical traditions, past and present. It is designed to increase the student's perceptual ability in listening to music and to encourage an interest in both familiar and unfamiliar music. Specific musical focus will vary by section. May be used for general education credit. May not be used for music major credit.
