Catalog description

Students engage with ethical, philosophical and pragmatic issues surrounding their choice to pursue professional licensure in PK-12 music education. This course includes observation of learning and teaching in elementary, middle, and high school music classrooms, as well as an introduction to the application of National Core Music Standards, Virginia Standards of Music for Learning, JMU's Conceptual Framework and JMU's Eight Key Questions. Course assignments and projects contribute to continued development of a digital portfolio.
