Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce teacher candidates to the adolescent diversity they will encounter in the secondary classroom. Candidates will explore cultural, ethnic, racial, gendered and linguistic identity including various exceptionalities, as related to adolescents, in order to understand the impact of students' development and backgrounds on classroom experiences and academic learning.
