Catalog description

This course is an interdisciplinary examination of the various definitions, causes, structure and consequences of genocide. We will study some of the major 20th century genocides (Indigenous peoples, Armenia, USSR, Jewish Holocaust, Cambodia, Bosnia/Kosovo, Rwanda, and Darfur) using the following conceptual schemes: social death, structural violence, oppression, and mass murder.
