Catalog description

This course will analyze the root causes of global poverty and critically examine a range of approaches designed to improve conditions for the world's poor. Topics include nutrition and agriculture, healthcare, education, gender equality, water and sanitation, environmental management, and microfinance. Throughout the course, students will read policy documents, work with poverty-related data and analyze a variety of real-world case studies to illustrate key ideas.
