Catalog description
The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with Italian literature through the study of excerpts of canonical texts ranging from the 12th to the 21st century. Different genres will be studied: philosophy, essay, poetry, theater, novel, short story and song, always presented within an historical, political, social and artistic framework. In this class, students will also learn strategies, using models and tools (such as the methodology for textual analysis and the study of rhetorical terms), to read and analyze any text better. Instruction is in Italian.
