Catalog description

The advanced field experience provides candidates opportunities to use their knowledge of child development to plan meaningful learning experiences with second and third graders. Candidates will learn the teacher's role in supporting children to construct understandings about the natural and social sciences, social studies, literacy and to use mathematical thinking. Candidates will begin implementing instructional strategies learned in all methods courses. This course precedes student teaching in the spring.
