This workshop examines the impact of the Civil War upon Virginia and its citizens. It explores the secession crisis, the revolution in firepower that forced changes in battlefield tactics and war aims, and the development of "hard war." A four-day battlefield tour will reinforce ideas discussed in the classroom. Supplemental fee required.
