This course will examine the history of ideas from a range of disciplines in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and how they have affected Western and global political, social and cultural trends. Instead of merely surveying ideas, the course will trace specific schools of thought over time, emphasizing the close analysis and contextualization of thinkers and ideas.
