Catalog description
This course covers the new British criminal code that redefined what constituted a crime and identified who was a criminal in the 19th century. Students will examine the nature of elite classes and the character of their relationship with subordinate classes. In addition, students will examine crime statistics and crime reports that provide information about behavior and experiences of people at the bottom of colonial society.
