Catalog description
This course is an introduction to the history of Roman imperialism and the Roman Empire (ca. 60 BCE - ca. 600 CE). Students will approach the past both chronologically and thematically, with an emphasis on cultural, social, military and political history, and on daily life and lived experiences throughout the Roman empire. Students will study ancient texts and artifacts and become familiar with major scholarly views and debates about the Roman empire.
