Catalog description
This course introduces students to German linguistics, with special emphasis on German phonetics. Students will engage with theoretical concepts and practical applications to understand the phonological structures and sounds that make up the German language. The course also includes units on sociolinguistics and German dialects. Class activities and assignments aim to enhance overall language proficiency, including listening, reading, speaking and pronunciation skills. Instruction is in German.
