Modern German Culture and Society

Catalog description

This course examines German culture and history from 1871 to the present. The course is centered on questions of German identity and how it has been influenced by historical events and cultural shifts. Students will examine cultural artifacts from the areas of art, literature and film created during or with reference to the historical period studied. Instruction is in German.
