Catalog description

The course is an advanced communication and culture course designed to bridge basic language study with upper-level coursework in the German language and culture. It is intended for students who have begun to develop advanced skills in interpretive, interpersonal and presentational communication and are interested in delving deeper into the study of German-speaking countries, their histories and their cultures. The course will focus on popular culture in the German-speaking world including music, film, television, literature and social media, and analyze how these reflect and shape cultural identities and trends. Instruction is in German.
