Catalog description

This course teaches forest measurement at the tree, plot, stand, and forest levels. It includes heights, stem diameters, volumes and biomasses of individual trees; fixed and variable radius plots; basal area estimates; sampling designs, and stand and stock table construction. Students learn how geospatial technologies can be used to collect data on forests, make forest inventories more accurate and precise, and assist in performing forest-related analyses and visualizations.
