Catalog description

This course introduces the design and evaluation of Portland-cement based concrete infrastructure, particularly for its engineering material and mechanical properties. Topics include concrete mix design, handling and placement of concrete, behavior of concrete under various types of loading and environment, and design principles of reinforced concrete structures. An included laboratory component incorporates physical evaluation of fresh and hardened concrete properties.
