Catalog description

This course extends into intermediate mechanics of materials topics and additionally explores the fundamentals of materials science, materials engineering and material failure theory. Topics include process-structure-property relationships, crystalline structures, an introduction to materials processing, plane stress transformations, principal stresses, and various ductile and brittle failure theories. ENGR 314 and ENGR 314L must be taken concurrently.
