Children and Social Studies in a Global Context

Catalog description

This course focuses on the content, processes, pedagogy and materials for teaching globally-aware social studies in the elementary classroom. Knowledge of cognitive development as applied to the selection of inclusive and global content, culturally sustaining methods, materials, and strategies for organizing the learning environment for elementary learners will be examined.
