This course examines the social, cultural, and educational contexts - through the lifespan - of individuals with exceptionalities. Specific focus will be given to the study of historical perspectives, models, theories, philosophies and trends in the field of special education. In addition, the role of culture, environment, family and individual differences will be explored.
