Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the study of mammals, incorporating current literature and methods of data analysis in the study of mammals. Topics covered include evolutionary history, general physiology, reproductive biology, systematics, ecology, wildlife management and behavior, followed by review of mammalian taxonomic orders. Lectures are reinforced with specimen-based, team-led laboratory and field experiences, with an over-arching camera study of native species. Students should have a background in introductory ecology and comparative anatomy of vertebrates or human anatomy.
