Catalog description
Students pursue a lab or field research project in a selected area of biology with a faculty research mentor. Students must contact and make arrangements with a supervising instructor in the term prior to registration. Students must complete a proposal or form of scientific communication by the end of the semester, such as a conference presentation, Biosymposium presentation, lab presentation or research paper, at the discretion of the instructor. This course may be repeated, and may be used towards the combined 3 credits of research to satisfy one upper level lab requirement for the biology major. This course is offered as credit/no credit only.
