Catalog description

American painting, sculpture, architecture and decorative arts from 1870 to 1945. This course will address topics such as the American Renaissance, the Harlem Renaissance, Chicago School architecture, masculinity in Western American art, notions of decay in turn-of-the-century art and American modernism. It will also introduce methodological debates in current scholarship.
