Catalog description
Provides a comprehensive overview of physical agents and therapeutic modalities utilized in physical therapy practice. Analyze the theory and physiological effects of thermal, mechanical, and electromagnetic agents, and their indications, contraindications, precautions, and clinical benefits and limitations, to inform evidence-informed decision-making in the use of therapeutic modalities for patient care. Laboratory activities seek to achieve competency in the application of the above treatment interventions to ensure effective outcomes and patient safety. 'C' grade policy applies. Offered: Summer Prerequisites: BIO 1120 , PTA 1010 , PTA 1200 , PTA 1220 Corequisites: PTA 1500 .
