Catalog description

Utilizes interview skills and learns how to use them in a crisis intervention format. Students will learn to deal with a variety of crisis situations ranging from suicidal situations to natural catastrophes. The class involves a combination of interpersonal communication skills and crisis intervention strategies for diverse populations. Emphasis will be placed on de-escalation techniques. 'C' grade policy applies. Offered: Fall.
