Catalog description

Presents classroom management techniques teachers can employ to develop self-control, positive self-concepts, independence and pro-social behaviors in students. Introduction of practical applications of guidance and motivation techniques: problem-solving, prevention of potential problems for group settings, negotiation skills, setting limits, arrangement of the environment, positive affirmations and logical consequences. Guidance and motivation are presented within a framework of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and constructivist educational philosophy. Offered: Fall.
