Catalog description

Provides a study of the concepts of radiobiologic imaging including components of the x-ray machine, x-ray production, and attenuation. Instruction on and practice with exposing, processing, mounting, assessing, interpreting, and duplicating extraoral and intraoral radiographs with emphasis on the parallel technique is incorporated into this course. Principles of radiation safety and protection in conjunction with quality assurance are stressed. Offered: Fall Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Dental Assisting Program Corequisites: DAS-1010, DAS-1200, DAS 1511 , DAS-2140, BHS 1310 , DHY-1019, SDE 1010 .
