Catalog description

Prepares the student to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to competently practice in a variety of specialized healthcare facilities as a pharmacy technician. The topics covered include law and rule, basic pharmacology, medication preparation, distribution, dosage calculations, medication order interpretation, and maintenance of patient records at the direction of licensed pharmacist. Successful completion of this course allows the student to take the Pharmacy Technicians Certification Board (PTCB) examination. Offered: Fall.
