Catalog description

Involves detailed study of musculoskeletal anatomy and how it relates to functional human movement. Topics include descriptive medical terminology, osteology, arthrology, neurology and basic muscle physiology. Emphasis is placed on the origin, insertion, action, and innervation of muscles. Common conditions of the musculoskeletal system are introduced. Group laboratory activities will focus on visualization of bony landmarks, muscles, and nerves on anatomical models and other visualization software. Students will also learn to locate these structures on their peers during laboratory sessions. 'C' grade policy applies. Offered: Fall.
