Spanish Language Teaching Methods

Catalog description

The methods course combines the study of second language theory and teaching techniques. Student teachers will explore and implement some of these theories and techniques by preparing and performing mini-lessons, writing lesson plans and doing classroom observations. Discussions and open debates on second language teaching issues are also part of the class routine. The course covers the essential elements for the preparation of language teaching professionals as prescribed by the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
