Catalog description

Prerequisite: As determined by college. This course provides an overview of the materials and processes and quality assurance topics used in commercial and specialized manufacturing products. Emphasis is placed on process evaluation techniques that can be extrapolated to other system areas such as new products and new technology. Emphasis is also placed on quality assurance including the history of the quality movement, group problem solving, and statistical methods such as statistical process control (SPC), process capability studies, and the concepts associated with lean manufacturing.
