PREREQUISITES: TMAS 140 Therapeutic Massage Training II and TMAS 115 Ethics and Massage Management CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Provides an understanding of the legal, administrative and clinical responsibilities pertinent to a massage therapy business. Addresses computer usage, marketing, startup costs, financial requirements and office/administrative skills that will allow students to create, promote, and maintain their own business. Students participate in an experiential clinic operation that will allow them to apply their skills and education in a practical setting. The importance of continuing education and research within the profession will be discussed. Students develop a business plan to define their short and long term goals and the requirements of managing a business.
