PREREQUISITES: SPED 102 - Introduction to Inclusive Teaching and Learning and EDUC 121 - Child and Adolescent Development PRE/COREQUISITES: COREQUISITES: DESCRIPTION: This course prepares students to understand the importance of developing collaborative relationships with families, other school personnel, and outside agency service providers who support students with mild exceptional needs. The student will develop and demonstrate dispositions and skills for building these essential professional relationships for the benefit of individual students. They will also plan transition strategies for students with mild exceptional needs in conjunction with families and community agencies. This course may be taught in face-to-face, blended, virtual, and Learn Anywhere formats. Department Chair approval required. Must be taken at home campus. OBSERVATIONAL FIELD EXPERIENCE STATEMENT: A 10-hour (minimum) in-person observational field experience is required for successful completion of this course.
