Prerequisites:PTAS 107 - Kinesiology and PTAS 106 - Modalities I Corequisites: Pre/Corequisites: Description:Addresses legal and ethical aspects related to the physical therapist assistant and patient care. Introduces documentation, report writing, record keeping, charges, and insurance information, including diagnostic and procedural coding, and third-party reimbursement factors. Discusses patient rights, including the American Disabilities Act. Discusses current health care provision issues, including inclusivity, and culatural and social factors. Explores patient, family, and professional communication techniques. Includes performing within the limitations of the scope of practice, basic principles of levels of authority and responsibility, planning, time management, supervisory processes, policies and procedures, and organizational management.
