Prerequisites:Demonstrated competency through appropriate assessment or earning a grade of C or better in required 0 level English and/or Math courses. Corequisites: Pre/Corequisites: Description:Explores the history and concepts of physical therapy, the history of the physical therapist assistant and rehabilitative medicine. Introduces fundamentals of patient care, including standard precautions; body substance isolation; OSHA guidelines, and patient assessments, including vital signs; body mechanics; and patient handling with applications of physics principles. Includes preparation of patients, treatment areas, and equipment.
