PREREQUISITES: MATH 137 - Trigonometry with Analytic Geometry or MATH 138 - Precalculus or Demonstrated Readiness for College Level Calculus. PRE/COREQUISITES: COREQUISITES: DESCRIPTION: This course introduces the student to a broad array of concepts in applied mechanics with a focus on analysis without the use of calculus on bodies at rest. Topics covered include units and unit conversions, vectors, forces, equilibrium, moments and couples, planar force systems, distributed forces, analysis of structures, and friction. This course provides foundation for subsequent coursework in fluids, strengths of materials, and system dynamics and design.
